I am a Pacific Northwest native with an English degree from Willamette University (it's a tiny school in Salem, Oregon; don't feel bad if you've never heard of it) and a life-long writing habit. I've been writing stories ever since I was old enough to hold a pen, and making them up in my head even longer, so it's only natural that I'd take it to the next level and write a proper novel. Or five, if the series goes according to plan.
Despite a few literary pretensions (thanks, college), my heart belongs to fantasy and my upcoming series, Tales of Jynsei, is firmly rooted in that genre. It's a saga that spent many years in various stages of planning and is now, finally, being written. But don't expect publication just yet - I have some serious rewriting ahead of me first.
When I'm not writing, I read a lot of books about WWII, study Japanese, wear big earrings, and make playlists for just about everything ever. Sometimes I live in Japan, but right now I'm back in the US, stuck in unemployment limbo and devoting myself to my debut novel while looking for a job that will pay off some of my student loan debt.
Ah, the glamorous life of an aspiring novelist.
